Our guest is Stephen Goldsmith, Deputy Mayor of New York City. He is currently on leave as a professor at the J.F.K. School of Government at Harvard. In the 1990s, he was mayor of Indianapolis, the country’s 12th largest city. After losing a bid for governor in 1996, he went on to serve as Chief Domestic Policy Advisor to George W. Bush’s 2000 presidential campaign. After the election, he was President Bush’s advisor for faith-based and not-for-profit programs.
