Dr. David Samadi of the Fox News Medical “A Team” discusses the possibility that former Vice President Dick Cheney may be on the recipient list for a heart transplant.
Cheney has been suffering from cardiac disease for 30 years and in that time has had 5 heart attacks. He recently underwent a pump replacement called LVAD (Left Ventricle Assist Device) which is a device that continuously removes blood from the left chamber of the heart and circulates it throughout the body.
An LVAD is typically a short term solution used to maintain heart function while awaiting a transplant.
