@Saturday SoundOffTV - They weren’t laughing at down syndrome kids, they threw in a sarah palin joke, everyone knows Palin has a down syndrome kid and so the joke worked. It wasn’t in any way hateful. But the point I was making, she totally over-reacted, it’s a freaking cartoon that’s on at 10 at night, the down syndrome voice actress said the joke FFS. Palin is an attention whore who’ll use any opportunity to show up on the news, my opinion and I don’t care what yours is.

Those upset about …
Those upset about this are missing the point. Its important that ppl with DS can be shown in such a way To treat people with DS with kid gloves is patronsing and unrepresentative. The girlfriend with DS was funny and refreshing imo.

That said, I still cringe at the clear air of smugness that Macfarlane has whenever one of his carefully planned “jokes” causes this sort of reaction (and publicity ). I feel he is as guilty as Palin in that respect.
