What, actually, is your problem with him bringing the troops home from Iraq? Yes, conservatives, that’s a serious question I’d like you to answer. (And no, swearing at me doesn’t answer the question; neither does telling me that Obama supports extreme political ideologies).

And for those of you who don’t have any idea, at least make your response original. The same old “libtard” insults get boring after a while.

@ENDtheFED2012 It was a 2 minute video. Definitely interesting but along with the scary music, it just doesn’t hold water. To move from the dollar to Euro would be such an expensive transition and that is just not going to happen anytime soon. The US Dollar will return but the problem isn’t invasion and we definitely aren’t going to invade Iran. If we closed our debt down and conducted responsible and smart monetary policy, none of this would be a problem.

The stimulus money, according to those links you sent me, say that the money is being obligation by the amounts allocated to whatever departments, states, cities, etc. they were allocated to. Contractors have to bid (according to your links) so the government can get the lowest price (most bang for the buck) which will put those contractors to work. Send those to seanarther, he thinks government money is like monopoly money.

@Yakko77 Iraq will never stabilize. History will show that and an understanding of the religious culture of that country will also dictate that. I’m sure Bush wanted to leave after Mission Accomplish and see Iraq become a puppet of the US. That didn’t happen. Sure Iraq calmed down a bit, but once we leave (now or 10 years from now) violence would resurface again. Who cares if there was a plan or not, there was no mission and no attainable goal. Hence why we’re pulling out.

@ENDtheFED2012 I’ll watch them, but I’ve seen lots of stuff from Ron Paul and being from Texas I’ve heard him speak and he just sounds like another libertarian who feel asleep during their history/economic courses. Weak centralized government (articles of confederation), getting rid of the Federal Reserve (see Panics prior to the roaring 20’s and Monetary Policy), etc. I like that he’s challenging the establishment, I wish more would. But what he is saying is either wrong or overstated.

@seanarther You make no sense. What are you even arguing? Do you even know how GDP is calculated? There are private companies that don’t produce things (see the insurance industry). Why are you trying to differentiate between earning and tax dollars? That doesn’t matter. The point is that government exists to benefit the majority of the population and the country as a whole and private industries exist to increase bottom line. What are you even talking about?

@seanarthe I see…so let’s say a police officer buys a car. When the number of cars sold is counted, do they count also the car bought by the police officer or do they leave that out? Now repeat this scenario across the economy, do all counts of GDP have to leave out government employee’s spending? If this is so, I need to go ask for a refund to the university for all my classes in economics and all the economic books I’ve read (academic books not ones written by Glenn Beck or Keith Olberman

President Obama, you don’t know me but as I’m getting more things done in my life, I hope that my work will reach you and similar people. I believe that you represent the type of people I’ve been looking for. The world needs a new breath of enlightenment and constructivity, but it also needs a guiding light. Standing complete darkness, the correct path will remain hidden. We are getting there, but as yo know there are ups and downs (speaking about the greatest societal perspective).

@Dishonor4019 Once Iraq stabilized (which it has for the most part) there were always plans to draw down the number of troops there. Why do people assume Bush wanted 100,000+ plus troops in Iraq all the time? Are these the same people who always went off about there “not being a plan”? Google: U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement

@Dishonor4019 Govt exists for a reason, but unlike private companies, it does NOT produce anything, neither goods, nor income. Every dollar it has is taken from the taxpayer and then put somewhere else. That’s not investment and it produces nothing. If you can’t understand the difference between govt taking a dollar from a taxpayer and giving it to another taxpayer versus a private company EARNING a dollar and investing it in its own operation (growth!), then YOU need to go back to school.
