I have discovered …
I have discovered that there are two types of people. There are those that read history to learn about, and apply our history to try to make change to the world for the better good. Then there are those who neglect history, and think that they either know everything or are very insulting. There are probably some people out there that don’t care about history and don’t say anything (thats fine). I think people need to like calm down, and just relax!

Sorry man, it is how I feel. We don’t need Hollywood to remind us of what the greatest generation did for us. I heard the real stories first hand, from my Grandfathers and my Great Uncles. No one in present day Hollywood has ever served anything but themselves. Gary Sinese is an exception and I am sure there are a few more. Hanks and Spielberg have not. They have both trashed our country in a public forum on many occasions.

@bertly71 - What a sad comment. These men have told the story of the people who defeated fascism. Spielberg and Hanks recognize and share the importance of knowing our history.
When I finished watching The Pacific tonight I thought of my late father who was proud to have been in the Navy in the Pacific in WWII.
