@MURFBAYER thing is there **is no government program**. they didn’t create one! a public option would have been a quasi-govt program, but it would have been just a govt option for insurance — not healthcare itself — and it was overwhelmingly supported by the polls - generally in the 60s and 70s percentages. a single-payer program would be a real govt program, like in other capitalist countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. true govt run healthcare would be like the NHS, in the UK.
