Outrageous Costs

Posted by: admin   in Barack Obama

Sharon has worked in the food industry for 18 years. For 10 years had a family health insurance plan that cost about $200 a month, then in 2001, her employer cut benefits (as so many smaller firms have done in recent years) and started offering a new health insurance plan with less comprehensive coverage. Figuring having some health insurance was better then having none at all, Sharon enrolled. But after a trip to the doctor and subsequent tests and procedures - including a mammogram, sonograms and a stereotactic biopsy to remove two precancerous growths - Sharon unexpectedly found herself thousands of dollars in debt because her insurance plan only covered a small fraction of the costs. She tried to apply for financial istance, but because she technically had insurance, she wasnt eligible for help. The fine print of insurance policies are notoriously difficult to understand, and often result in confusion over what is and isnt covered. Sharon set up a payment plan and eventually paid off her medical bills, but not before being harassed by bill collectors asking her to send more money.

Organizing for America has collected hundreds of thousands of personal health care stories. The grassroots effort is building support in communities across the country for a plan that adheres to President Obama’s three principles for reform: lowering costs, preserving patient choice and increasing access to quality care.

If he really loved …
If he really loved and cared for his family, if he really cared for the People he would stop feeding the International bankers, corporations, insurance companies and so forth.

We all need to abolish Money everyone it is destroying our lives and destroying our planet. We need a new and better system that works, without money barter or Trade.

Checkout a Resource Based Economy It is the best solution that is on the table, if we all decide that’s what we all want.

You know i have …
You know i have nothing against Obama and do not hate him, but i do not like how he is handling things. If this man is seriously about Change then why has it seemed things are getting worse instead better.

would all like to know why, MONEY we live in a monetary system an enslavement system for the people of the world. All he is wants to do now is just keep the status quo and keep this economy afloat, but it’s not working at all. He is just making things worse.

I had my tonsils …
I had my tonsils taken out in 1966 for $135 - I found a 2005 cost around $3000. .
In 1965-66 the retail price of a Ford Galaxie 500XL was around $3600

So tonsilectomies now cost at least 19 times more USD than in 1966, and a muscle car now costs around $30K, so thats only 8 times more than in ‘66 .

Lawyers like John “The Kid Ain’t Mine. No, Wait, Yes It Is.” Edwards are the main reason health care costs are ridiculous.

Have you read HR …
Have you read HR 3200?

Read the bill, man.

Read 1000 pages of ACTUAL THINGS Obama is going to do to remedy the situation. 1000 PAGES.

THEN say “Obama is offering nothing to remedy the situation”.

THEN we can talk about who is stupid. *sigh*

Thank you, sharon, …
Thank you, sharon, you are brave and beautiful for telling the truth. You’re in the same boat with millions of other Americans who are paying for insurance, but will still go broke if they have a major illness. Health Care reform is urgently needed today.

Harassment from …
Harassment from bill collectors in this situation is UNACCEPTABLE!

I wonder if any innocent people ever ended up in jail when they were denied insurance coverage and couldn’t afford to pay the outrageous expenses that followed?

Harvard, Stanford …
Harvard, Stanford and MIT are private universities. Private schools work very well at the university level.
The problem with private schools at the primary and secondary level is government harassment.

The problem is …
The problem is medicare. Health care in the US was fine till medicare. It pays only 97cents on the dollar for actually cost, the balance of the cost is pushed onto people like this lady. The government is the problem not the solution

It is indisputable …
It is indisputable that health care reform is needed. People should be able to have the insurance that fits their health care needs and doesn’t just make them feel better for having it. The Republicans are idiots for dragging their feet on health care reform. Everyone will be better off if everyone has adequate health insurance. Obama is a smart man who get put down way to much. He is trying to pass health care reform so that this country’s health care system is better off in the future.

IMO, parents chose nonsecular schools for the religious indoc. that is included in the the school day. I believe that some far right relig. groups hope to perpetuate their closed minded philosophies, which is fine as long as no public funds are used. That is why the relig. right pushes for vouchers! Parents say that sending their kids to such schools takes nothing away from the public school funding. However, most schools are funded per student & less students means less funding.

If you look into the studies you’ll find that private schools can refuse enrollment, not so with public schools. They can also charge for books and school supplies. You will also find that their results are not stellar in terms of student achievement. They tend to “teach to the test” more often than not & don’t not stress higher level deductive thinking.
