Faces of Health Care Reform: Kristine

Posted by: admin   in Barack Obama

Kristine’s husband and his business partner own a small machine shop in Milwaukee that their fathers started nearly 60 years ago. The company has traditionally been able to provide its employees with single and family health insurance, but rising costs have made it increasingly difficult, and they’ve had to modify the coverage they can provide. Last year, her husbands business paid $132,000, for plan that requires a $2,500 deductible. My story is certainly not a tragic one, its just a typical one, says Kristine, the problems faced by small business owners in this country.

Organizing for America has collected hundreds of thousands of personal health care stories. The grassroots effort is building support in communities across the country for a plan that adheres to President Obamas three principles for reform: lowering costs, preserving patient choice and increasing access to quality care.

I don’t think cooks …
I don’t think cooks make very much money, unless he’s Gordon Ramsey.

Crohn’s cases vary greatly in severity, which is the biggest problem with understanding the disease, both medically and publically.

My wife’s case of the disease is pretty severe. I was able to speak with a very prominent research doctor at UCSF who focuses on Crohn’s, and her opinion was that a change in diet would have minimal impact. Either way, believe me, we tried various attempts for extended periods with little impact.

However, thank you for your consideration.

So America turns …
So America turns into a Third World Country, I guess if you rape other countries financially or deny to pay for others medical bills you get the karma to learn from your mistakes. Everyone for himself is not going to work, not for individuals, families, city, or even countries. We’re all in it together but i guess it have to be experienced. Don’t take my word for it, it is unpossible to not learn so I am not worried (I have fate in the design).

My next door …
My next door neighbor broke his hand. He has some old hand brace on it. He does not have insurance or the money for hospital bills. He and his wife and daughter live in a one bedroom apartment. He works nights as a cook and his wife works days cleaning houses so that one of them is always with their daughter. His hand is so swollen and I just know that he is in great pain. He cannot work like this and is now afraid of losing his job.

It appears actually …
It appears actually that I know more on the economics of this issue than you. Independent, gvt, and WHO research all shows that we would pay LESS in taxes if we had a public option. It would drive medical and pharm cost down as ours is the highest in the world by FAR. We already pay for those on state ins through taxes and medicare. Having this option would cost us considerable less per capita and save us on taxes in the long run. Look up the studies on google to find the research results.

Please explain to me how I have an equal chance to succeed.

My wife has Crohn’s, and her care will cost a minimum of $8000 a year, MINIMUM, and she hasn’t been able to work.

I just want to go to school and earn a physics degree, as that’s what I care about. Instead, I just work full time to support her, as there is no insurance that will cover her.

I’m not looking for an completely level playing field, but this shouldn’t happen based upon my wife’s health.

BS. Obviously you …

No . You do …
No . You do realize I want an “equal” playing field for all. the foot up comment is about affordable education.. not work place issues. Further. On healthcare.. you ddo realize that the pvt ins co already dictate your health care far more than our gvt ever could. No one even wants to take away pvt health care… but create an “option” for those who are uninsurable.

Do you have any …
Do you have any idea how socialist what you just said sounded? You don’t have the government step in to make sure everyone is on the same playing field. In America everyone has an equal chance to succeed. That’s what the civil rights movement did. People should shut up and stop complaining about all this non-existant racism. Is affirmative action not enough? Do you even know what that is? It is when minorities are given jobs over whites even when the whites are more qualified.

Universal …
Universal Healthcare will ruin America. Our healthcare system will be like the ones in Canada and Europe which the liberal media of course doesn’t mention all suck. People die waiting for a government official to grant them a doctor’s appointment. Do you hate freedom?? Is having the liberty to support yourself and pay for your own healthcare not good enough for you????

full anesthesia …
full anesthesia would of cost my dad around $1,200 with taking out all four teeth, one side of my mouth would of cost $500, partial anesthesia would of cost $750 for all four, and $250 for one side of my mouth.

We have a problem in America, but the media never turns up the noise with universal health care.

HMO’s look at us like a number instead of a human being.

Universal Health Care or Broke Sick Americans!

Well, why can’t we …
Well, why can’t we all just be equal? How about we never, never repeat the past by letting one race be the “power”.. how about we work on everyone being on the same playing field… so that we don’t have to fix more messes down the road. But first, I’d like to see those who’ve been held back as minorities to be giving a foot up onto that level playing first. So let’s start there and then try to live in harmony as equals?
